The children spend their day in a warm, engaging environment that nurtures their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Our clean, safe, home-like spaces create a sense of comfort and allow every child to develop at their own pace. Small group sizes ensure plenty of individualized attention, peaceful activities, and cozy places to rest or recharge.
Small Groups
Every major research study on infant and toddler care has shown that small group size and good ratio are key components of quality care. Small groups facilitate the provision of personalized care that infants and toddlers need, supporting peaceful exchanges, freedom and safety to move and explore, and the development of intimate relationships.
Individualized Care
At ECSG, we focus on following children’s unique rhythms and styles in order to promote their well-being and a healthy sense of self. Responding promptly to individual needs supports a child’s growing ability to self-regulate (i.e. to function independently in personal and social contexts).
The program adapts to the child, rather than the child adapting to the program. This ensures every child gets the message that he or she is important, that his/her needs will be met, and that their choices, preferences, and impulses are respected.
Outdoor Learning & Exploration
The Infant and Toddler age also allows for the outdoor environment to act as an extension of the classroom. Daily outdoor walks around in and around downtown Georgetown gives educators opportunities to interact with the children and the local community. Constant supervision and concern for child safety is always a priority.
Whether your child is with us every day or just a few hours a week, we’re here to partner with you and support them as they grow.
The Infant/Toddler curriculum is built upon children’s interests and needs as well as the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines for Infants And Toddlers (developed by the Association for the Education of Young Children).
